Partnering with the ALIVE INSIDE Foundation, our “Adopt a Senior” music program is established to engage school-aged children with seniors in their communities and homes to simultaneously connect the two generations through the fun of bringing the music of yesteryear back into the lives of seniors, some suffering with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

In short, the program performs as follows for the school children:

View the 2014 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award winning film “Alive Inside”
After viewing the film, an individual child is provided a playlist of artists and songs identified by an individual senior.
The child then spends time on IPods and MP3 players searching for those artists and songs resulting in the child organizing a brief playlist of those artist and songs on the IPods/MP3s.
The children are brought to the senior community, introduced to their senior companion and together they interact through the playlist of music.

The powerful result from this interpersonal experience is that both the children and the seniors learn from one another while a bridge of human interconnectivity is constructed between the generations.
